Drawer Style Receivers for Flag Style Plates

The standard receptacle version for Flag style sample plates is manufactured from one block. The sample plate is secured by two ruby spheres which are pressed against the rear of the sample plate by a leaf spring - the leaf spring is held in position by itself. The receptacle can be manufactured from a variety of materials.

Low temperature version
Leaf springs press for better thermal contact the sample plate down onto the face of the sample drawer via two Ruby spheres. The leaf spring is held in position by two screws.

With it's melting point of 2900K, Molybdenum is an excellent choice of material for high temperature applications. At the other end, the high themal conductivity and the low expansion coefficient also make it an ideal choice for experiments at very low temperatures below 4K.

For use above 1000K, it is strongly recommended not to use Molybdenum sample plates. Very likely, the sample plates will be welded to the receiver. Choose tungsten, Tantalum or a ceramic material instead to avoid sticking.

Sample drawer made of oxygen-free High Purity Copper (OFHC, Cu-OFE) with Gold plating and high quality of surfaces is an excellent choice of material for cryogenic only applications and ensure good thermal cryogenic contact to the sample plate.
