Precision-engineered vented stainless steel socket head cap screws with a central venting channel for reliable fastening in high-vacuum (HV) and ultra-high vacuum (UHV) environments.

These vacuum-compatible socket head cap screws are manufactured according to ISO 4762 (DIN 912) and feature a precisely machined axial venting channel. This allows trapped gases beneath the screw to escape during pump-down, reducing virtual leaks and supporting faster evacuation of vacuum systems.

Manufactured from A2 stainless steel and cleaned for vacuum applications, these screws are suitable for vacuum chambers, manipulators, sample handling systems, scientific instruments and other precision assemblies requiring reliable fastening under vacuum conditions.

Design & Functionality

Conventional screws can trap small volumes of gas at the bottom of blind threaded holes. During evacuation, this trapped gas may escape only slowly through the thread clearance, resulting in virtual leaks and prolonged pump-down times.

The central venting channel provides a direct gas escape path through the screw, helping eliminate trapped volumes and improving vacuum performance.

The cylindrical head with hexagon socket provides reliable torque transmission and allows installation using standard hex keys.

Configurations & Compatibility

Available in metric thread sizes from M2 to M8, with nominal lengths ranging from 4 mm to 60 mm, depending on the selected diameter.

The standardised ISO 4762 head geometry allows these screws to replace conventional socket head cap screws of corresponding dimensions, provided that the venting channel and application-specific mechanical requirements are taken into account.

The screws are suitable for a wide range of vacuum-compatible mechanical assemblies, including sample holders, vacuum manipulators, mounting fixtures, positioning mechanisms and scientific instrumentation.
