XR Linear-Rotary Feedthrough for Combined Linear and Rotary Motion in Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV)
XR Linear-Rotary Feedthrough for Combined Linear and Rotary Motion in Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV)
Couldn't load pickup availability
Ferrovac Swiss-made magnetically driven Linear-Rotary Feedthroughs provide smooth, precise and reliable linear motion and continuous rotation in Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) systems.
Their compact magnetic drive enables controlled movement and efficient force transmission without the long bellows stacks required by conventional linear motion feedthroughs.
The XR Linear-Rotary Feedthrough range extends the standard configurations with High Torque and Dual Shaft versions, custom linear travel and retracted lengths, alternative support structures and optional motorized drives.
Typical applications include sample transfer mechanisms, movable sample storage racks, load lock transfer arms, retractable heating stages and automated positioning systems.
Key Features & Benefits
Smooth & Precise Motion
Magnetic force coupling provides smooth, controlled linear motion and continuous shaft rotation while minimizing the influence of atmospheric pressure forces.
Compact & Flexible Design
Different combinations of linear travel and retracted length allow the feedthrough to be adapted to limited installation space and specific vacuum chamber geometries.
Reliable UHV Performance
The magnetic drive minimizes potential leak risks and mechanical wear associated with conventional long-bellows systems, providing reliable operation over repeated movement and bakeout cycles.
High Force & Torque Options
The High Torque (HT) configuration delivers twice the linear force and rotational torque of the standard Linear-Rotary Feedthrough, providing 60 N linear force and 1.0 Nm torque. This makes it particularly suitable for demanding applications such as tightening sample holders, operating internal mechanisms and engaging or disengaging mechanically activated thermal contacts.
Motorization & Support Options
Depending on the selected configuration, single-sided or double-sided tube supports, motorized linear drives and combined motorized linear and rotary drives are available.
Available Shaft Configurations
Single Shaft
Provides smooth linear movement and continuous rotation for sample transfer, positioning and mechanical actuation inside UHV systems.
Single Shaft – High Torque (HT)
The High Torque (HT) configuration delivers twice the linear force and rotational torque of the standard Linear-Rotary Feedthrough, providing 60 N linear force and 1.0 Nm torque. This makes it particularly suitable for demanding applications such as tightening sample holders, operating internal mechanisms and engaging or disengaging mechanically activated thermal contacts.
Single Shaft – High Torque (HT)
Designed for applications requiring increased mechanical force transmission. The High Torque version combines smooth linear movement and continuous 360° shaft rotation with 60 N linear force and 1.0 Nm rotational torque, providing twice the force and torque of the standard magnetic drive.
Dual Shaft
Provides two concentric shafts for applications requiring additional mechanical functionality and relative shaft motion.
DN16CF Configurations
Compact DN16CF versions are available in standard and High Torque configurations for applications where mounting space is limited.
