Ferrovac Swiss-made magnetically driven Sample Transporters provide reliable long-travel sample transfer and precise manipulation in Ultra-High Vacuum (UHV) systems.

Their robust construction and powerful magnetic coupling allow smooth linear movement and controlled shaft rotation, making them ideal for transferring samples between interconnected vacuum chambers, load locks and processing stations.

The XR Sample Transporter range extends the standard transfer arm configurations with specialized shaft designs, custom dimensions, alternative bearing systems and motorized or mechanically assisted drives.

Key Features & Benefits

Reliable Long-Travel Sample Transfer

Magnetic coupling provides smooth, controlled operation over extended travel distances, allowing precise sample transfer between UHV chambers.

High Mechanical Load Capacity

The robust magnetic drive and shaft construction are designed for demanding sample transfer applications requiring higher forces and greater mechanical stability than miniature motion feedthroughs.

Reliable UHV Performance

The all-metal sealed design and high-quality bearing systems provide reliable operation under ultra-high vacuum conditions, including repeated movement and bakeout cycles.

Flexible Shaft Configurations

Single Shaft, Dual Shaft, Dual Rotary, Rotation-Locked and Hollow Shaft configurations provide different motion capabilities to meet application-specific requirements.

Motorization & Support Options

Motorized linear and rotary drives, guide rails and mechanical belt drives are available for applications requiring assisted movement, controlled positioning or automated sample transfer.

Available Shaft Configurations

Single Shaft

Provides linear movement and continuous shaft rotation for conventional sample transfer and positioning applications.

Dual Shaft – Slide Bearing

Features concentric shafts with independent rotation of the inner shaft while the outer shaft remains rotationally locked. Slide bearings provide guidance for the moving components.

Dual Shaft – Ball Bearing

Provides the same basic dual-shaft motion capabilities with a ball-bearing design for applications requiring reduced friction and smooth rotational movement.

Dual Rotary Shaft – Slide Bearing

Allows independent rotation of both the inner and outer shafts, providing increased flexibility for sample handling and positioning.

Dual Rotary Shaft – Ball Bearing

Combines independent inner and outer shaft rotation with ball-bearing guidance for smooth and controlled manipulation.

Rotation-Locked Shaft

Provides linear movement while preventing shaft rotation, maintaining a fixed angular orientation during transfer operations.

Hollow Shaft

Features a hollow transfer shaft for specialized applications requiring an internal passage or application-specific integration.
